'EVERY day feels like a holiday' according to a couple from Stratton, who recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Elsie and Ron Bell holidayed in the area for more than 50 years before moving to Poughill and later settling at their current home in Stratton. Now, they feel 'everyday feels like a holiday' and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary recently.

Both originally from London, Elsie made her first visit to Bude with her mum and dad in 1945. They stayed with the Stevens family at Dimma Farm, Poundstock. She recalls being met on arrrival at the train station by taxi from Poundstock.

Many family holidays followed and as the family grew they stayed in many locations, including the Bank House, Stratton with Mr and Mrs Moyse.
