THIS was a great example of women's football; it was end to end with brilliant passing and movement, writes Liam Dart.

The midweek game started at a fast pace with Ria Tilley twice going close. With the mounting injury list Ali Tilley, Amy Hooper, Louise Dart and Chelle Bowden were given starts after being on the bench for long periods and all were superb. Hooper, Dart and Bowden were in top form at the back but the brilliance and ability of the Argyle finishing left Julie O'Keefe with no chance in the Launceston goal.

The Argyle winger opened the scoring on 20 minutes with a great left footed shot which hit the top corner. On 30 minutes Launceston's strike force combined Jill Haines crossed and A Tilley passed the ball into the net to equalise.

On 40 minutes Launceston's injury curse continued with Dart suffering a recurrence of the cruciate knee ligament injury she sustained in August when turning to clear the ball, which means another long spell on the sidelines. When play restarted from a corner Argyle made it 2-1 with a well timed right footed volley into the top corner.

In the second half sub Jess Shirley drove just wide. On 50 minutes Sharon Medland equalised with a 30 yard strike after neat play by herself Haines, Tilley and Sarah Guymer. Launceston pushed for the winner with sub Lucy Bounsall, Louisa Crick and Fiona Stevenson going close.

Argyle made it 3-2 after neat play won them a corner the clearance found an Argyle player who smashed home. Stevenson nearly equalised from a free kick and Racheal Medland had a penalty appeal turned down. It was a great game of football to watch and was enjoyed by the relatively large crowd.
