Erica Tippett of Bleujen Florists, Bude, has got through to the final of the British Floral Association Young Florist of the Year competition.

Erica recently got through the semi-finals, which was held at Birmingham, and is now in the final five contestants in Britain.

In the semi-finals, Erica was required to create five items, one being a surprise, and she scored 760 points out of 1,000.

She told the 'Post': "We had to do these pieces in a certain amount of time and with lots and lots of people watching us so as you can imagine it was quite scary."

She will now return to Birmingham at the end of October to take part in the final.

The overall winner of the competition will compete against 16 other European countries next year at the 'Eurofleurs' competition.
