THE 1st Holsworthy Scout group was delighted with the number of entries it received for their ‘Make, Bake and Create’ competition held as part of the ‘Holsworthy Remembers WW1100 Years — in Memory of the Fallen and the Future of the Living’ event.
The event was open to adults and children and challenged people to get creative.
There were many different classes people could enter from fairy cake decorating to flower arrangements with a wartime theme.
Pauline Masters, group scout leader for 1st Holsworthy Scout group, said: “1st Holsworthy Scout group were amazed at the amount of entries received for the competition and the high standard of the class exhibits, the judges had a very hard time deciding on the winners.
“We were very proud to be part of the WWI commemoration day and were pleased to welcome our local community to view the competition entries, the display about our scout groups and to join in some scouting activities such as spaghetti and marshmallow towers and knot tying.”
