THE founder and frontman of Squeeze will hit the road next year on a tour sharing the songs and stories of his career.

Chris Difford, co-wrote classic hits Cool For Cats, Up The Junction, Labelled with Love, Tempted, and Black Coffee In Bed, alongside Squeeze co-founder Glenn Tilbrook.

His songwriting talent doesn’t end there; he’s co-written with Elton John, Jools Holland and worked alongside artists such as Bryan Ferry. Thea double Ivor Novello award-winning lyricist, has also hosted songwriting workshops for more than 30 years.

Armed with a new book, he’ll be touring the UK in spring 2027. Fans can look forward to an evening of classic hits hilarious conversation and readings from the book itself. He’ll also share some of his poetry.

Chris said: “It’ll be great to get back on the road and perform some of my favourite songs, while sharing the stories behind them. See you there!”

Away from the stage, Chris has hosted songwriting retreats and workshops for more than 33 years.

He is an ambassador for Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter, as well as co-founder of the David Enthoven Foundation. Chris continues to support recovery communities through his work with Broadway Lodge in the South West.

2026 has seen Chris returning to the road for further touring across the US and UK, including appearances alongside Billy Bragg, Christopher Cross and Elvis Costello, as well as dates connected to Trixie’s - a collection of songs originally written in 1974.

With 2027 already shaping up to be another busy year, Chris will continue to show that he is one of Britain’s finest lyricists who is still happiest in a dressing room chair, writing songs for audiences who treasure them.
