A LAUNCESTON artist whose work has generated global interest says she is excited about next month's launch.
Rebecca D Harris, who lives in Launceston with her family, has created a lifesize embroidered pregnant figure named 'Symbiosis'. After six months in the making, she is now preparing for its first public display.
The piece is Rebecca's first major commissioned artwork and will be showcased at the Eden Project's new exhibition opening in May 'Invisible You: The Human Microbiome', supported by the Wellcome Trust.
During the hand stitching process of the countless French knots used to represent trillions of microbes living on a person's skin, Rebecca was able to share her progress at #StitchingScience sessions across Devon and Cornwall.
The sessions caught the interest of BBC World News who arranged to film Rebecca at Seale Hayne in Devon.
