TWO Army Cadets from Holsworthy took part in a special presentation event held by the Devon Army Cadet Force (ACF) in December.

LCpl Kaya Kirby and Cadet Edward Girdler (pictured right) received their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award certificate from the Lord High Sheriff of Exeter.

The event was organised to recognise Cadet achievements from across Devon and to celebrate forty years since the first females enrolled in the organisation.

LCpl Kirby took part in a special on stage formation where female members formed a giant forty to commemorate the event.

Holsworthy detachment commander Lt Jim Harvey said: “LCpl Kirby and Cadet Girdler have worked hard to secure their awards and I am proud of their efforts and commitment which reflect the positive values and qualities of being an Army Cadet.”
