LOCKE School of Motoring’s Colin Mullis recently paid a visit to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth and Little Harbour children’s hospice, delivering goodies for all.

Taking place on Friday, March 25, Colin, of Launceston, firstly visited Derriford Hospital and then moved on to Little Harbour, to deliver donated items such as Easter eggs and teddy bears to the children’s wards.

All of these are donations from various organisations and companies in and around the Launceston area.

As well as gifts for the children, Mr Mullis wanted to reward the hardworking members of staff, who work vigorously hard to deliver an efficient service on a daily basis, although this was a surprise to them.

Bottles of wine, chocolates and bouquets of flowers were donated to the cause to give to the members of staff.

Mr Mullis told the Post that he started doing a lot for charity when he began donating £2 from each of his driving tuitions to Cancer Research UK. Ever since then, it has ignited his passion to do more for charitable organisations.

He said: “Having children ourselves, and also knowing a friend whose child was in Little Harbour, I think it’s all about giving something back, not only to the poorly children but to the staff as well. They don’t expect anything and they do so much for others.

“I’ve known members of staff to just burst out crying because they don’t expect it. For me, it’s mainly about giving something back.”
