ONCE again the Launceston Rotary Club put on a carol concert in the Town Hall for the benefit of the whole town. It was, as always, ably supported by Launceston Town Band, who had already been playing once before on the same day.

The church choir came and gave their usual splendid offering of Christmas music, but wouldn't it have been nice if they had stayed for the whole concert. The Brunel Ladies Choir were there and caused a little amusement as well as singing some lovely music.

Wouldn't it have been splendid to see the Town Hall full as it used to be not so many years ago — after all it was a beautiful dry evening. Wouldn't it have been good to see the town council full represented! Wouldn't it have been a pleasure to see you local business people there. I can remember not too many years ago when the 'great and good' of the town were always seen in public doing their bit.

Thank you Rotary — don't give up despite the poor turn out. Your concert always starts off my Christmas and I am sure the local organisations which you so generously support are very grateful. Thank you too Town Band — have a happy Christmas all of you.

Launceston.
