FILMING for the next series of popular comedy drama Doc Martin, which is filmed in the seaside village of Port Isaac, is due to start next month.

Since first hitting our screens back in 2004, Doc Martin has become somewhat of a national treasure thanks to Martin Clunes who plays the grumpy doctor.

Clunes, his real life producer wife Philippa Braithwaite and the rest of the cast are coming back to the North Cornwall coast to film series nine. The eighth season finished way back in November 2017 so fans will be eager to see the doctor back on TV.

The series is expected to be broadcast in the autumn of this year.
