PLANS for a digestate transfer tank to be situated at Ashwater were recently refused by Devon County Council.
The planning application — submitted by Andigestion Ltd, Holsworthy — sought permission for the proposed transfer tank for digestate to be situated on land at Westmanton/Thorndon Farm, Lugworthy Cross, Ashmill, Ashwater.
Devon County Council refused planning permission on the basis that the "scale of the proposed tank and operation will introduce an industrial element into the rural landscape."
The county council also said that its "isolated position over 19km from the Andigestion site at Holsworthy by road does not minimise the transportation of waste material."
