POLICE in North Cornwall are reminding people to be vigilant following the theft of Delabole slate flooring tiles.
The theft happened sometime between Monday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 8 from a field near Congdons Shop.
Police said there were tracks in the area, which suggest a vehicle was used which then drove off towards North Hill.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "It is difficult but not impossible to prevent the theft of these types of materials. However, storing them securely or within the sight of occupied properties may make a potential thief think twice, particularly if they are using a vehicle to take away heavy building materials.
"We would also urge the public to report any suspicious activity as soon as possible and if practicable take the registration number of any vehicle involved."
