NO-ONE could accuse Delabole of not marking the Queen's Diamond Jubilee or providing lots of opportunities for villagers to meet and greet each other.

Celebrations began on Thursday, May 31 with a tea and sports at the primary school, followed by a presentation to youngsters between 0 and 16 of mugs to mark the occasion, designed especially for Delabole by local resident, Brenda Burnard.

Saturday, June 2 was a time for studying rain clouds but fortunately most of the day's activities were able to take place.

Mr and Mrs George Hamilton of Delabole Quarry unveiled a commemorative plaque after which many locals Flora Danced to the school to the accompaniment of Camelford Town Band.
