BUDEHAVEN’S John Ward Hall will host ‘Dance for Talan’ on Saturday, November 5, from 10am to noon.
David Herman, Zoë Reeves and Charlotte Jenkins have kindly offered to do a two-hour Bokwa, Zumba and dance event in aid of Talan’s Journey.
The Post has previously reported on Talan Penny, from Bude, who found out at the age of 18 that he had a rare form of cancer.
A Facebook page was created called ‘Talan’s Journey’, which has allowed friends and supporters to follow Talan through his journey with cancer.
All are welcome to the dance event next month — all ages and experience.
Tickets are available for purchase at the door at £10 per person.
This event is to help raise funds to buy and assemble a shed for Talan in the Penny family garden.
The shed will provide a place for Talan to relax privately, and enjoy the company of his friends.
It will allow him to watch television, play Xbox and give him a slice of independence while still maintaining the close proximity of family that is necessary.
A shed will allow Talan to spend time alone, separate to hospital visits and car journeys.
On November 5 David Herman, who is representing Fusion Fitness and Wellness Centre, will kick things off with a warm-up followed by 20-25 minutes of beginners Bokwa.
Zoë will then make participants sweat further with 20-25 minutes of Zumba, followed by David instructing 20-25 minutes of Bounce Dance Fit and Charlotte Jenkins and Zoë finishing with 20-25 minutes of Street Dance (representing CJ’s Dance) before a well needed and deserved cool down.
David is a UK Bokwa expert trainer. Zoë is one of the original batch of Zumba instructors in the UK. Both David and Zoë have in excess of 20 years of teaching experience separately. As well as this Charlotte has a vast experience in all forms of dance. Teaching children, teenagers and adults, she founded CJ Dance in Bude more than five years ago.
