Members of gig rowing clubs across Cornwall took part in a cycle ride with the aim of raising money for the Pearl of Africa Children's Choir charity over four days. The cyclists left Launceston on the Thursday morning, before travelling to Golant, Fowey. On the Friday they travelled onwards to Penzance, then to Padstow on the Saturday, where they were joined for the final part of the day's trip by members of the choir. In Padstow all were treated to a fish and chip supper from Rick Stein's restaurant, before enjoying a concert provided by the choir members. The cyclists returned to Launceston on Sunday, completing their four day ride. The Pearl of Africa Children's Choir is a UK charity whose main purposes are to further education and the relief of poverty in Uganda.
