TWO fellow bikers from Launceston have recently put their helmets on, as they took part in a big charity ride in aid of Little Harbour, Children’s Hospice South West’s hospice at Porthpean, St Austell.
Bikers, Colin Mullis — a local driving instructor — and Darren Harris from Launceston, dressed up as Santas and took to the roads on Saturday, December 3 for the charity ride.
The pair started their journey in Launceston town square, where children were handed sweet treats and were given the chance to meet Santa himself!
The pair then made their way to Lee Mill, Plymouth, where they met up with approximately 150 fellow bikers. The group was spotted by motorists, who were delighted to see such a large group of Santas, and excitement grew when the group stopped in Saltash.
It was there they met lots more children, who were able to look at all of the bikes. After a collection, the Santas finished their ride at Little Harbour, where they received refreshments.
The group meets regularly. Their first love is riding their motorbikes, and being able to make someone smile is a bonus. The group will take part in another ride soon.
Colin is known for doing his part for charity where he can make a difference, no matter how big or small.
He has a love for bikes, and has made many new friends who all got involved in the Santa Run.
Both Colin and Darren are looking forward to the next big charity ride, and Colin has a very busy schedule for his charity contributions for 2017.
Keep up to date on his charity work via his driving school Facebook page.
