CROWDS of people lined the streets and packed the pubs and clubs of Bude for the annual jazz festival last week. The festival, which took place from August 26 to 29, featured around 40 bands from across the country, playing at 12 venues in and around the town. From Steve Tucker's All Star Jazz Band at the Parkhouse Centre to Chris Walker's Swing Fever at Tommy Jacks — there were jam sessions and events throughout the four days. Returning all the way from America was pianist Jeff Barnhart with his Bude Beach Bum Band. A free shuttle bus was provided by the jazz committee for strollers wanting to witness entertainment at Wooda and the Bullers Arms in?Marhamchurch, which returned to the festival this year. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
