A CROWDFUNDER page has been set up to raise money for the ongoing restoration of St Julitta’s Church, near Camelford.
St Julitta’s Church, at Lanteglos-by-Camelford, is Grade I listed with parts of the building dating back to the Norman era. After ten years of fundraising, the Friends of Lanteglos Church have been able to fund the start of the restoration of the church, with work starting on November 12, 2018. It is expected the restoration will continue for at least nine months.
Major works include the roof timbers, which were found in a bad condition, and the medieval oak rafters, which have rotted more than was first thought.
The Friends are now looking at a further cost of £50,000 to strengthen the roof of the whole building, and are looking to raise £5,000 through their Crowdfunder page.
