LEWTRENCHARD WI's latest charity cream tea fundraiser has yielded over £300 in support of local cancer research. Over 60 people came along to enjoy the afternoon's entertainment at Lewdown Cricket Club, where Dr Martin Highley, who is an oncologist at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, provided a talk on how research is progressing in the area. Spokesperson Ruth Dawe said: "We are really pleased with the turnout. Everyone enjoyed it, the atmosphere was lovely and it was a really nice place to be."
