BUDE Surf Life Saving Club’s Mike Moyle Memorial Christmas Day swim will take place once again this year.
Taking place on Wednesday, December 25 at Crooklets beach in Bude, the starter’s whistle is at 11am so don’t be late! Everyone is welcome — the only rule... no wetsuits!
People can register on the day or pop in and see the team at Zuma Jay Surf Shop. Sponsorship forms can also be collected from them too, or they can be downloaded from the club’s Facebook page.
Everyone who raises £30 or more will get a limited-edition Christmas Day swim t-shirt, which can be picked up in Zuma Jays or at the swim.
There will be free hot drinks for all swimmers and some festive treats too! This year the event is cutting down on plastic usage so organisers are encouraging all swimmers to bring their own cup or they can be borrowed from the club with a £5 deposit.
This is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year with all money raised going directly to the club and invested in lifesaving training and equipment. People can donate online, on the day or pop into Zuma Jays.
A club spokesperson said: “We would also like to say thank you so much to the local community for their continued support for this event and for our club. We are so happy that the swim has now become an annual tradition for so many people and wouldn’t be able to run the club as we do without the amazing support we have.”
