A COUNCILLOR is appealing to town and parish councils to support the new Long House centre in Holsworthy by donating unspent TAP money. The town and parish fund (TAP), created by Torridge District and Devon County councils, encourages parishes to work 'more closely together'. Funding was made available to support projects in the area if councils showed they were 'in partnership' with each other. Holsworthy Town Council, Pyworthy and Hamlets parish councils created a partnership and have since received funding for various projects in the town and villages. The scheme is now in its final year and Holsworthy Town Councillor Martin Prentice is encouraging any towns or parishes, which have not used the money available to do so, before it ends and the funding is returned.
