THE location of a picture of Launceston Castle was the cause of a controversial discussion at the Launceston Town Council meeting held on Tuesday, December 14.

The item was raised following an update of the town hall. This was where the picture had previously been placed, but it was moved to the Market House Arcade whilst work got underway in the town hall.

Cllr Eric Chapman commented: "I was mayor at the time when the picture was given to the people of Launceston. It was placed in the town hall and that's where it should stay.

"There is plenty of room to put the picture back."
