A NEW 750 capacity secondary school could be opened in Bude for the start of the 2012/13 academic year if a new proposal gets the green light.
Yorkshire Nationwide Schools (YNS) is a newly established group, formed in response to legislation introduced by the current government, which aims to 'widen the choice for parents and students' by introducing 'Free Schools'.
Free Schools are state funded schools set up in accordance to feedback from local people, based on what they think is required in order to 'improve education' for children of all abilities in the community.
Working with a number of partner organisations, YNS hope to establish Bude as being part of a 'super chain' of schools throughout the country, with the support of parents and others in the community.
More information can be sought on these new proposals at http://www.yns.org.uk/index.html">www.yns.org.uk/index.html.
