CORNWALL Young Farmers held their annual County Carol Service at Truro Cathedral on Friday, December 16 with host clubs Stratton, Landrake and Pelynt, carrying out readings, prayers and dressing up as characters from the famous nativity scene.

Christmas greetings were given by president of Cornwall Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs, Hon Evelyn Boscawen, Reverend Roger Bush, Dean of Truro, and Steven Wild, chair of the Cornwall Methodist District. Bishop Tim also gave an entertaining Christmas message to the congregation.

Talented members of the federation from Falmouth and Helston and St Kevern, Marie and Luke Curtis and Peter Curnow, gave a musical performance of ‘Walking in the Air’, which sounded lovely within the cathedral setting.

The cathedral was packed full for the event of the year for the YFC calendar.

The New Year brings cabaret competitions and the 80th celebration county ball for members past and present, to be held on February 4 at Atlantic Hotel, Newquay.
