THE police continued working alongside Lewannick Primary School's pupil-led group of junior road safety officers in a visit to the school recently.

The Post has previously reported on calls in the village for signage to alert motorists travelling through the village that there is a primary school nearby — the school is on Hawks Tor Drive, which is set back from the road leading into and out of the village.

The junior road safety officers and police conducted a speedwatch. Pictured are Lewannick junior road safety council with the police, primary school headteacher Ben Towe and resident Vicky Jones with leaflets they have designed to hand out to locals, highlighting speeding motorists.

Lewannick Parish Council met last week.

Clerk to the council Elaine Cook said: "It's in discussion with Cormac and Cornwall Councillor Vivian Hall.

"We are now liaising with them with regard to signage."
