Step Into Learning, in Launceston, have made an investment in community collaboration with Bridge Church to bring a specialised kitchen to the town.

Step Into Learning will be providing a brand new commercial kitchen for students attending their Step Into Catering & Hospitality study programme in Launceston and utilising existing facilities in Bude.

The Step Into Catering & Hospitality study programme is fully funded and available to 16 to 24 year olds with an Education & Health Care Plan (EHCP), with additional financial support for course participants through the 16-19 bursary fund.

Step Into Learning’s programme is tailored to each individual student and can be taught at Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2. Step Into Catering & Hospitality provides much needed practical work experience in a commercial kitchen alongside English and maths sessions. Students are given the choice of specialising in catering, barista skills or front of house, or they can experience all three disciplines.

Programme participants benefit from small group sizes and a high level of support throughout, with a focus on encouraging increased independence. Following study on the Step Into Catering & Hospitality programme support is offered to students wanting to progress on to further study or enter employment.
