LAUNCESTON is being 'harshly treated' by Cornwall Council's proposed car parking price rises, according to one of its local members.
Town councillors have been asked to respond to a consultation into Cornwall Council's proposals to abolish all-day £1 Saturday parking and raise the prices of season tickets in its car parks in Launceston.
Cornwall Councillor for Launceston Central Liberal Democrat Alex Folkes said the consultation was not just on Launceston, but he added: "We are being specially treated, and I would say specially harshly treated."
The full town council last week voted in support of work carried out by the town's Cornwall Councillors and some of the traders, who have been urging residents to respond to the consultation and have put together their own proposals for the car parks.
