LAUNCELLS Parish Hall hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning and Community Cafe to celebrate the opening of the newly refurbished hall kitchen on Monday, October 1.
On this occasion Royston Symons and Pam Brewer formally opened the kitchen by ceremoniously cutting a ribbon, and all those attending then enjoyed homemade cake with their tea or coffee, and light lunches were served at noon, with all profits going to Macmillan Cancer support.
The parish hall committee thanked Royston Symons, parish council chair and Pam Brewer, parish clerk, for opening the kitchen and thanks were also given to Langford Solar Farm who provided the funds to complete this project.
Local tradespeople as well as members of the committee all helped to ensure the kitchen was completed in time.
The kitchen is a great asset to the hall, which is used for meetings and by a number of clubs and groups including skittles, badminton, yoga and gaming, as well as the monthly Community Cafe. The hall is available for hire.
The committee is very pleased to be sending a cheque for £360.15 to Macmillan Cancer Care.
