THREE members of the Bude Death Club visited the Porth-Emmet (Bude) Explorer Scout Unit on Tuesday, January 30 to present cheques to three Explorers who are attending the World Scout Jamboree next year and to also the members who are attending a camp in Switzerland this summer.

The Bude Death Club was founded in 1845 by George Brendon and was first known as the Bude Haven Philanthropic Society. The organisation helped poor people with their funeral expenses, eventually being known as the Bude Death Club. The club currently has 100 members.

The Explorers and Leaders would like to extend their thanks to the club for their generous donation of £300 to the three Explorers attending the World Scout Jamboree and £100 to the Switzerland trip.
