IT is business as usual for a clifftop inn after part of the cliff gave way last week.

Jade Plum, manager at the Port William at Trebarwith Strand, said she believed the cliffside collapsed on Monday, February 23.

The fall came shortly after the North Cornwall coastal area had been under a flood alert.

Ms Plum said: "We have a car park and turning circle with more parking space past the turning circle, but customers are unable to park there now.

"We have to look after the safety of our staff and customers and we are taking those precautions to ensure no danger is caused to anybody."

On whether more cliff could fall at that spot, Ms Plum added she thought it was 'too difficult to tell'.

"It happens because of erosion. It's inevitable over time."

A spokesperson from Cornwall Council said: "An engineer from Cormac visited the site to assess the situation and arrangements have been made on site to secure the situation for public access."
