THE bright lights and striking big top of Circus Funtasia have appeared opposite the Kings Hill Industrial Estate in Bude.
Pitching up for their first ever visit to the town, this new circus is decidedly modern in its approach.
Tracy Jones, founder and ring mistress, said: “When we set up Circus Funtasia in 2013 we knew we wanted it to be special. It’s an all-human show, so we don’t use any animals, we just focus on the incredible energy that our fantastic artists bring.”
The acts include the dazzling Wheel of Death, a spinning wheel that rotates with two performers inside. A Harley Davidson provides the backdrop for a mesmerising foot-juggling act.
Visitors will also encounter gravity-defying acrobats Duo Stefanelli, and two aerial artists suspended in the air on straps and silks.
Throughout the show there are heart-warming comedy performances from the resident clown Emilion, and the big finale features three motorcycle riders in the terrifying Globe of Death.
The show also features the UK’s youngest performing juggler, 13-year-old Nia Nikolova Jones.
The family atmosphere shines through at Circus Funtasia. With face painting, flashing lights, popcorn, candy floss, hot food, and even a bar, there is enough to keep audiences of all ages entertained from start to finish.
A Cornish flag flying proudly above the big top proves that it’s definitely been a pleasant stay for the circus performers.
Opening night is Wednesday, October 5, with two shows daily until Sunday, October 9.
