A CHEQUE has been presented to the Bude & Holsworthy Macular Group after a successful Christmas raffle at the Cattle Market Café.

Retiring after 30 years of working for Holsworthy Post Office, Linda Harris took over as manager of the Cattle Market Café in September 2021, along with her daughter, Victoria, as chef.

With ambitions to increase opening hours, including a Sunday carvery, in early March the café will be opening for private functions.

However, they have already started to support their local community and at their Christmas raffle they raised £180.

This money has been evenly split, 50% being donated to the Devon Air Ambulance and 50% to the local Bude & Holsworthy Macular Group.

Nearly 1.5-million people in the UK have macular disease. It affects people of all ages. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common condition, generally affecting people over the age of 55.
