MONEY from the Waitrose in Holsworthy ‘Community Matters’ was donated to the 1st Holsworthy Scouts on Friday, September 14.

A cheque for £1,000 was given to the 1st Holsworthy Scouts, which will be put towards the group’s ‘field fund’ — a project which will hopefully see the Scouts purchasing their own field for cook outs and camping etc.

Pauline Masters Scout Leader said: “This donation will go towards our field fund. We are now actively looking for a suitable field and if anyone has any fields to sell please contact the scouts.”

Damian Heard, branch manager at Waitrose Holsworthy, said: “We are very proud to have helped some incredible causes such as Holsworthy Beavers, Cubs and Scout groups and we would like to invite other local charities and groups to participate.”

Waitrose Holsworthy has donated more than £100,000 to more than 250 charities since the shop opened in 2009 and if anyone is interested in nominating a cause they can pick up a nomination form in store or contact Marilyn Chidley or Julia Morley by email at [email protected]
