Mike Walker of Langfield Manor in Bude is pictured welcoming Sainsbury cyclists Mark McKeever and Jon Hindley after they had cycled from St Just recently. The two cyclists are raising money for Help for Heroes by cycling the length of Britain from Lands End to John O'Groats which is Sainsbury's chosen charity for the year. The route they have planned covers 1,044 miles and will take them 15 days since they began on Sunday, June 20. The two will be adding an extra 200 miles to their journey visiting 11 stores throughout the country including Bude who recently gave the lads a meal and liquid refreshments. Following an email a few months ago requesting free accommodation whilst on their journey, Mike and Suzanne Walker of Langfield Manor were quite happy to offer the two a bed for the night before making their way up to John O'Groats. Pictured also is local volunteer Chris Shennan who is an ex-serviceman.
