THE recent open evening at Whitstone Stores was a resounding success and raised over £1,250 for charity.
Proprietor, Dan Cock said: "Thanks to everybody for coming and supporting the evening. It was the busiest one we've had. It's becoming a bit of an event in Whitstone."
The event also included a craft fair in the old Bridgeman's premises, by kind permission of Mr Orchard.
In the store, there was a wonderful selection of food by local producers on offer and around 300 people attended throughout the evening.
As well as providing a good night out and a chance for people to meet with friends and neighbours, the open evening also raised over £1,250 for the Cots for Tots Appeal, and donations are still being collected.
The money raised included an amount of sponsorship from local businesses, which boosted the amount raised.
