AFC Plympton had to beat Southgate to win the league and the blues started with the intention of making this as hard as possible.

Right from the start Southgate looked positive and sent balls forward for the front three to chase. However, it was Plympton who took the lead, from a long clearance they broke free and finished from close range. Southgate hit back immediately and almost moments later were level when Ryan Cook teased the defence before turning and rocketing the ball into the top corner from a tricky angle.

The scores remained level at half time with Southgate determined to finish the season with a win. Plympton however turned up the pressure and showed themselves as worthy champions looking dangerous on every break and causing the defence many problems.

The home side soon notched up a quick three goals to lead 4-1 although Southgate made the game nervy when Ryan Cook grabbed his second after linking up with Josh McCabe.

AFC Plympton rounded the game off with goal 5 but Southgate kept playing and made sure their opponents worked until the end.

Southgate: Tom Coles, Josh Smith, Darryl Ede, Sam Wooldridge, Kris Jasper, Jake Collings, Ashley Millar, Josh McCabe, Josh Nancarrow, Connor Burtonwood, Nathan Godby and Ryan Cook
