A SURPRISE presentation was made at St Breward on Sunday.

The Rev Canon Sherry Bryan was presented with a ceramic poppy at the end of the Sunday communion service, from St Breward World War One exhibition committee and St Breward History Group. The poppy was from the art installation 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' at the Tower of London, which marked 100 years since the first full day of Britain's involvement in the First World War.

The ceramic poppy was presented to the village community and to be kept in the village church. The vicar was very moved to be able to receive on behalf of the village, and to hold, one of these now famous poppies.
