FORMER Launceston resident Gladys Harvey was 100 years old on February 3.

She celebrated her birthday with her family and friends at Tyspane Care Home, Braunton, where she is resident.

Unfortunately her eldest grandson was unable to attend as he now lives in Australia.

Gladys was resident in Launceston from 1926 until she left Kernow House Care Home, previously living at Woburn Road.

In her younger years she was a member of Kensey Vale and Dunheved Bowling Clubs, and a county bowls player for Cornwall. In her early years she played tennis and badminton.
