THE Neetside Community Centre, Bude, recently held its 16th annual general meeting, which was followed by a celebration evening, giving everyone a chance to view the recent changes to the first floor of the building and to thank all those responsible for their hard work and commitment towards the project.
The first floor of the building has recently been transformed to provide a new 'Family Room', specifically designed with families in mind — the 'Neetside' regularly provides Cornwall Social Services with accommodation where families can have supervised parental contact sessions with their children.
A new room has been created and two other rooms re-decorated for use by the Bude/Stratton Health Visitors and school nurses and the remaining two rooms have also undergone extensive re-decoration so that they can be used by 'Outlook South West'.
A new kitchen has been installed and with the toilet area and general walkways re-painted the area is now up to the high standard of the accommodation on the ground floor.
The 'Neetside' continually strives to increase the facilities it can offer its 45 user groups and so a Wi-Fi system has recently been installed, which has resulted in everyone who uses the building now being able to access the internet free of charge.
The manager of the building, Sue Lamble, explained that a tremendous amount of hard work had gone into these renovations by all concerned, all of which were carried out whilst the building was still open for business.
Thanks have been expressed to the builders, plumbers, electrical team and everyone else who helped with the renovatons for all their hard work.
