St Teath Carnival took place on the last Saturday of July, bringing a week of carnival events to a conclusion.
The carnival was a sight to behold, with a huge number of varied entries taking part — from dinosaurs to caravans.
Ten-year-old Ruby Grace Carpenter-Timmis, from St Teath, was this year’s carnival queen, leading the procession through the village that evening.
The event was another fun-filled and hectic week with the ‘Funday Sunday’ really setting the tone for what was a lovely community event with a great family feel this year.
A spokesperson from the carnival committee said: “The committee would like to thank the whole village for the support we have had for each event. The attendance in the marquee every day has been fantastic, and we were particularly impressed with the efforts made on costumes for the procession. ‘The best one yet’ is the comment that keeps coming up and we couldn’t agree more!
“One of the things we’re very proud of in St Teath is our ability to fundraise, and we certainly did ourselves proud this time, ending the week serving over 100 breakfasts and raising £1,000 at Tyler’s Big Breakfast, which he will be sending to JDRF.”
The spokesperson added: “This year’s carnival is overshadowed by the terrible accident which took place on Saturday evening, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of everybody involved.”
