YEAR 10 students at Sir James Smith’s Community School edged towards their target of buying a Shelterbox for a family caught up in a disaster area – by picking up water and sponges and washing staff cars.
This was one of the final efforts in their push to buy a complete Shelterbox for £590, and then tracking its progress as it delivers aid to a family caught up in a disaster area.
Together with the proceeds of other school fund-raising events it left them just short, with the remaining amount to be made up soon.
Among those out in the car park cleaning the vehicles for the Cornish-based Shelterbox charity were Isla Symons, Bethany Beare and Pedro Corsico.
