COLD and icy weather caused difficult driving conditions in some areas last week and over the weekend.
A VW Polo overturned on the B3254 outside Launceston, near to St Stephens, at around 7.50am last Thursday.
On Saturday evening, there were reports of a collision near to Milton Abbot, and conditions were said to be damp and greasy, and the road icy in places.
The weather is set to be milder the end of this week — the Met Office reports for Launceston it will be mainly cloudy with highs of 11°.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Things are looking to turn a little bit milder for the whole of the UK. The risk of ice is reducing.”
He said towards the end of the month, the whole of the UK can expect a gradual change from colder, settled weather to more unsettled weather, spreading in from the South and West, but added: “There is a chance there could be localised frost overnight. It’s certainly a possibility.”
