A 21-YEAR-OLD Canworthy Water man appeared before magistrates in Bodmin on Tuesday charged with attempting to murder his brother at their home the previous day.
Richard Hasell of Canworthy House, Canworthy Water, is alleged to have attempted to murder William Hasell by stabbing him, and is also charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a Staffordshire Bull Terrier belonging to the owners of the Wainhouse Inn, by stabbing it numerous times.
The court was told by prosecutor Ron Butler that Hasell faces a third allegation that he refused to supply a specimen of breath for analysis at Camelford on the same date.
No pleas were entered and the court agreed to send the matter to the Crown Court in Truro for trial.
Mr Hasell was remanded in custody pending the hearing at the Crown Court on December 16.
