A LARGE crowd packed into the council chamber at the Cornwall Council offices in Camelford on October 26 to discuss the future of Camelford Leisure Centre.

The meeting was called following the announcement that Cornwall Council was considering the withdrawal of funding, which could result in the possible closure of the local facility.

The meeting was chaired by Richard Burke, Deputy Manager of Camelford Leisure Centre. Alongside him, on the top table, was Jonathan Holt, chairman of Camelford Forum, and Jim Benton-Evans, Camelford vicar.
