MORE than 100 North Devon Army Cadet Force personnel, including cadets and instructors from the Holsworthy detachment, gathered at Fremington Quay recently for the annual inter detachment Major John Finney Memorial Competition.

The young people were put through their paces with a series of challenges, which included a three kilometre speed march, target shooting, fieldcraft, first aid and sports.

The weather was fine and the competitiveness intense but friendly with smiles and laughter all round.

The winning team will be announced at Christmas camp held in December at Okehampton.
