CAMELFORD Young Farmers Club has had a busy start to the year.
In early December they had their annual dinner and dance at the Mill House, Trebarwith with over 90 past and present members attending.
The current chairman Becky Franklin, guest speaker Andrew Ham and club president Caroline Yeo made speeches.
Club members received cups and shields for their efforts towards the club throughout 2016. The evening was finished with drinks and dancing with an enjoyable night had by all.
Over the months leading up to Christmas and New Year, members were busy working on their cabaret acts. Eight members created a moulin rouge style dance with a few surprises!
The first-round was held at Liskeard Town Hall where the girls went onto the final at the Hall For Cornwall.
Hollie Cornelius and Ashleigh Babb also learnt the very skilled act of aerial silk dancing. Their act had the whole crowd mesmerised at the Hall For Cornwall. Not only were they picked for the county team, they also came home with a cup for best female performers.
This year’s club programme secretaries, Jo Sandercock and Jake Reynolds, have some very exciting meetings lined up for the coming year.
Camelford YFC meet every Wednesday evening, usually going from Clease car park at about 7.30pm.
New members are always welcome and are recommended to contact chairman Becky Franklin on 07791 266312 or Jo on 07979 796732 beforehand to confirm.
