THE Bush Inn, near Bude, has recently been sold.

Set in a stunning coastal position, the inn is a popular destination for walkers and tourists visiting this stretch of coastline.

The Bush Inn is a deceptively spacious property, which has a long history of providing hospitality dating back to around 950AD. By the 18th century, it had become a popular haunt for wreckers and smugglers, who operated on this treacherous part of the Cornish coast.

It is also widely believed that the Bush Inn, the only inn to exist on the wrecker’s coast between Bude and Hartland Point, was the inspiration for the famous novel, Jamaica Inn, as writer Daphne du Maurier was known to have visited the inn whilst living nearby.

The Bush Inn was sold as a free of tie lease, off a guide price of £115,000.
