THE Atlantic Buoys were on hand at the show to tell visitors of their upcoming transatlantic challenge.
Port Isaac-based Hamish Stewart and Neil Blackeby are due to row across the Atlantic in just 60 days, starting in December.
At the show, on the stand of their sponsors, Sharp's Brewery, was a chance for visitors to take part in a one-minute rowing sprint challenge in the rowing boat.
Everything Hamish and Neil will need for their journey they will have to take with them, and they are continuing to raise money for food and equipment such as a water maker.
They are also aiming to raise several thousand pounds for Children's Hospice South West.
Neil said the challenge is something he has been wanting to do for 43 years, since he was ten-years-old.
He attended the Earls Court Boat Show in 1970 where he spent the day with Tom McClean, who holds the world record as the first man to row across the Atlantic Ocean from west to east solo in 1969.
Neil said he had been planning to do the challenge alone, until Sharp's Brewery agreed last-minute to sponsor the duo. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
