WHALESBOROUGH Cheese made another trip from Bude to London recently, for the Great British Cheese Awards finals.

The competition was set up this year, giving the public a unique opportunity to vote for their favourite cheeses, proving to be a resounding success with over 7,500 votes being cast.

The producers and retailers with the most votes went on to be judged by a panel of food experts.

Whalesborough Cheese’s Keltic Gold, which is rind washed in Cornish Orchard’s cider, reached the final four cheeses in its category. This success follows on from results at this year’s Great Taste Awards and record sales from the summer.
