NORTH Cornwall District Council's Planning and Development Committee voted to hold a site meeting after discussing plans for a health centre at Budehaven Community College.

The committee discussed the application — submitted by Cornwall County Council — at their meeting on Tuesday, December 2. The plans include erecting an extention to an existing bungalow and changing its use from an exam facility to a health centre.

Case officer Lucy Gouws said: "The primary use of the building will be to provide advice and counselling service to the immediate school community and surrounding community. It is intended for school pupil use during school hours and community use to be confined to out of hours when the adjacent car park will be underused."

She recommended the plans be approved but councillors voted to hold a site meeting.
